WORCESTER – There’s nothing like the month of August and the impending start of autumn to make you appreciate the few weeks of summer that you have left. June and July always seem to fly by, but when August comes along, you suddenly realize that the summer’s almost gone. If you’re like me, you start to worry about how you want to spend your last few weeks.

This weekend in Worcester is definitely not one to miss. With festivals, parties, yoga sessions, comedy shows, and picnics, there is sure to be an event that you, your friends, and your family can enjoy.

Water Lantern Festival

Make your way to Elm Park at 138 Russell Street in Worcester on Saturday, August 17 for the Water Lantern Festival! The event features food trucks, entertainment, vendors, lantern decorating, water lantern launching, stories, meditation, and more. Gates open at 5 PM, and tickets are $40 on the day of the event. Sunset in the City: Rooftop Party

This Saturday, August 17, Pulse Magazine will be hosting a summer rooftop party at Union Station Garage, 225 Franklin Street in Worcester. There will be a variety of performances by Blue Light Bandit and DJ Dupe, as well as food and bear. Purchase your $15 tickets here, or purchase tickets for $20 at the door.

WOOtenanny x DTFO Present: Deck Comedy Jam

In need of a good laugh? On Sunday, August 18 from 7 PM to 9 PM, Redemption Rock Brewing Company will be hosting an outdoor comedy show that features WOOtenanny and DTFO Comedy. Tickets are $5, or $10 if you wan a commemorative t-shirt. Buy your tickets here.

 

YogAromatherapy at Greater Good

Relax and enjoy a morning of yoga, aromatherapy, and beer at the Greater Good Imperial Brewing Co. this Sunday, August 18 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. There will be a 60-minute slow flow class, soothing essential oils, a free beer, and a gift bag. Bring your friends together and buy your tickets here.

 

Vegan Potluck Picnic in the Park

Celebrate one of the last weekends of summer with a picnic in Green Hill Park! This Saturday, August 17 from 12 PM to 3 PM, there will be a free vegan potluck in the park.
