WORCESTER – Police responded to a report of a vehicle stolen on Water Street on Friday, December 10, leading to the arrest of a Worcester man.
Upon arriving on Water Street after 1:35 AM, police determined a woman left a Subaru Forester running and a man got in it.
Witnesses told officers the owner of the vehicle confronted the man and yelled for him to get out of the vehicle. The man pushed her to the ground and drove away.
Investigating officers gave a description of the vehicle over the radio. Officers located the vehicle in the Dunkin’ drive-thru on Grafton Street.
Police ordered the man out of the vehicle, placed him under arrest and identified him as Anthony Vinton, 27, of Worcester.
Vinton faces charges of:
- Carjacking,
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle,
- Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority,
- Assault and Battery.
