SHREWSBURY – A vehicle stop by police on Boston Turnpike near Quinsigamond Plaza on Tuesday led to a Worcester resident facing drug and firearms charges.
Officers stopped Britt Walker. 33, of Worcester, shortly after 9 AM on Tuesday for a cracked windshield and expired inspection sticker. According to the Shrewsbury Police Department, officers saw Walker reach for what appeared to be a black handgun in the center console.
After multiple commands, Walker did drop the weapon and was arrested. The firearm was what police called a, “realistic replica CO2 powered pellet gun.
Inside the vehicle, officers located what they believed to be fentanyl and a taser weapon during the investigation. Walker does not have a license to carry a taser or operate a vehicle.
Walker faces charges of:
- Possession Class A Substance;
- Assault w/ Dangerous Weapon;
- Firearm (Taser), Carry Without License;
- Unlicensed/Suspended License to Operate a Motor Vehicle;
- Inspection Sticker violation; and
- Equipment Violation.
