WORCESTER – The Main South neighborhood is now home to a new high fashion boutique store, WAVVZ Concepts, at 651 Main St. which opened on Friday at the corner of Main Street and Chandler Street.

The opening included champagne and a sidewalk runway where hired models showed off the types of outfits that new customers can expect from the store.

WAVVZ  is a dream eight years in the making by Emmanuel Qlynton Carboo, who moved to Worcester from Ghana in West Africa to start his own fashion brand. Two years ago Carboo began a partnership with Creative Hub Worcester who assisted him in helping to open his new store.

Carboo says his store will help the community beyond a new shopping space. “Our main goal is to find the next generation and introduce them to fashion and visual arts, Carboo told This Week in Worcester. “People started asking about where to buy them and so we got some feedback, the city loved it, we were doing runway shows on the street, people showed interest and low and behold we’re at our grand opening today and everyone came out to support it.”

Besides the clothes for sale, the store offers tailoring service and supplies for customers to design their own jackets. “Our motto is literally, making every idea come to life.” Carboo said while promising that the store will work with customers to design custom outfits upon request.

WAVVZ Concepts is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Saturday noon to 5 PM.
