Webster Man Arrested for Distribution of Cocaine

WEBSTER – A Webster Police officer conducted a vehicle stop on North Main St. on Monday, October 5, which led to the arrest of Yamil Miranda, 38, of Webster, for drug distribution charges.

At around 9 PM a Webster Police officer stopped Chad Purdy, 42, of Webster, and Miranda in a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.

After speaking to Purdy and Miranda, a narcotics sniffing canine, K9 Mookie, from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, was called to the scene.

The investigation led to officers discovering what they believed to be crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, marijuana and more than $900 in cash.

After the vehicle arrived by tow to the Webster Police Department, a search warrant granted by Dudley District Court. Further search revealed crack cocaine, along with packaging materials, additional cell phones, and a scale.

Police seized around six grams of drugs during the investigation.

Miranda faces charges of:

  • Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of a Class B Substance

Purdy will receive a summons to court for Possession of a Class B Substance.
