Last Updated: July 22, 2022

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Worcester area until Sunday night.

And while we don’t advise spending too much time outdoors this weekend, there are fun events happening all weekend long. Luckily, there are events being held indoors to help you stay cool in the summer heat.

This weekend, kids can learn to build a rocket and explore the ins and outs of a Worcester fire truck, you can check out an original play in downtown Worcester, celebrate a special anniversary and witness athletes complete a four-day 100-mile hike.

Celebrate Space Travel at the EcoTarium

On Saturday, the EcoTarium is hosting Rocket Day from 10 AM to 4:30 PM.

Participants will get the chance to build basic physical and chemical rockets, construct a parachute to land safely on Mars, take core samples to find signs of ancient life and launch a model rocket into the sky.

The cost of the event is included with admission. For a schedule of activities, click here.
