WORCESTER – Strong winds are expected in Worcester and its surrounding towns on Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service [NWS].
Risk of westerly winds exceeding wind advisory criteria of 45 MPH are possible. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by NWS.
The westerly winds are a result of warm weather earlier this week followed by a cold front moving across Massachusetts. Temperatures are expected to drop nearly 20 degrees overnight Friday into Saturday.
