Cooling Centers Open in Worcester this Week

WORCESTER – The City of Worcester will activate several cooling centers in the city in response to high temperatures forecast this week.

Each facility will have supplies of water on hand.

All cooling centers are accessible through fare-free service by the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA).

The locations of the cooling centers are:

Tuesday, June 18:

Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Worcester Public Library Main Branch, 3 Salem Sq., 9 AM – 8:30 PM

Wednesday, June 19:

St. Xavier Center, 20 Temple St., 9 AM – 4 PM

Thursday, June 20:

Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Worcester Public Library Main Branch, 3 Salem Sq., 9 AM – 5:30 PM
South High Community High School, 170 Apricot St., 8 AM – 2 PM

Friday June 21:

Worcester Public Library Main Branch, 9 AM – 5:30 PM
Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., 9 AM – 4:30 PM
South High Community High School, 170 Apricot St., 8 AM – 2 PM
