WORCESTER – A carjacking on Main Street on Wednesday, September 22, led to a local man facing carjacking charges.
A man approached a Worcester Police officer at McDonalds at 955 Main Street, reporting another man carjacked him at knifepoint.
The victim pointed to the vehicle, which was backing up to leave the parking lot. The officer ordered the suspect to stop, but he drove off.
Shortly after midnight on Thursday, September 23, a K9 officer spotted the suspect in the victim’s vehicle, which was parked outside 648 Chandler Street.
When the suspect, Sahfari Williams, 18, of Worcester, exited the vehicle, he ignored the officer’s commands and fled on foot.
K9 Bolt assisted in Williams being apprehended.
Williams faces charges of:
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
- Armed Carjacking, Resisting Arrest
- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Failure to Stop for Police
