Worcester Man Arrested for Throwing Rocks at Police Officer

WORCESTER – Worcester Police responded to a call at 195 Park Ave. Monday morning, April 20, to find a man throwing rocks at a building.

The responding officer ordered 30-year-old Tommy Huynh of Worcester to drop the rocks. Instead, Huynh began throwing rocks at the officer.

The officer deployed his taser, but it had no effect on Huynh. The officer drew his firearm, but a nearby witness tackled Huynh from behind. After a struggle, Huynh was placed in handcuffs and arrested.

Huynh faces charges of two counts of vandalism, malicious destruction under $1200 and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The responding officer was not seriously injured.
