22-Year-Old Worcester Man Pleads Guilty to Firearms Charges

A local man pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm on Tuesday, May 11.

Nicholas Briggs, 22, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The judge scheduled sentencing for August 30. A federal grand jury indicted Briggs in November 2020.

Police arrested Briggs on July 4, 2020, for carrying a loaded Glock pistol. He has a prior conviction punishable by over one year in prison, which prohibits him from possessing a firearm.

The charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years in federal prison.
