WORCESTER – Worcester Public Schools Superintendent Rachel Monárrez, Ph.D., has been named one of 25 “Superintendents to Watch” in he United States by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) provides school communication training and services to school leaders in the U.S., Canada, and U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity schools worldwide. The NSPRA picks up to 25 superintendents honorees who have fewer than five years of experience as a superintendent and demonstrate dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core.
Dr. Monárrez is in her second school year leading Worcester Public Schools as its superintendent. She was previously deputy superintendent of the San Bernardino Unified School District in California. Monárrez earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of California Irvine, and a Masters of Arts in Education and Ph.D. with an emphasis on urban education from Claremont Graduate University
