Today’s Weather in Worcester – Sunday, January 26

By TWIW Staff | January 26, 2020
Last Updated: February 3, 2021

Sunny to partly sunny skies are expected throughout the rest of Sunday with high temperatures in the low to mid 40s.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy skies this evening will give way to cloudy skies later tonight. Low temperatures tonight will be near 30 Degrees.

Monday: A mixture of sunshine and clouds is expected on Monday. In addition, some scattered showers are possible during the afternoon. High temperatures Monday will be between 40 and 45 Degrees.

Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Wednesday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Thursday is expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 35 Degrees.

Friday is expected to be sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures between 35 and 40 Degrees.

Possible Storm For Next Weekend: There continues to be a high amount of uncertainty regarding a possible storm for next week; both with regard to 1) if a storm will even impact Central Mass, 2) when will this storm actually affect the area & 3) if a storm does affect our area, will it be all snow, all rain or something in-between.

The possible weather pattern setup for next weekend’s storm will be the potential for a piece of energy in the northern part of the jet stream to phase with a piece of energy in the southern part of jet stream. Should this occur, it would lead to the development of a significant winter storm next weekend across Southern New England, but this is not a sure thing at all right now.

The weather forecast guidance that I look at continues to flip flop, which is not surprising at all for a forecast that is a week away. These same guidance members have a range of possible outcomes from an all rain event to a substantial winter storm to a storm that misses us completely to the south.

Over the next couple of days or so, we should start to see more clarity in the data on what this storm may bring in terms of impacts to our area next week.

Bottom Line Is That there is the possibility for a storm for next weekend & it is something that should be watched very closely. I wish I could be much more specific on what this storm could bring or not bring to Central Mass, but given the high degree of uncertainty, I would be just wildly speculating. Just know that I will continue to have updates for you as needed.
