Meet the Authors Event to Benefit YWCA on Tuesday

WORCESTER – Women Authors Evening, a benefit for the YWCA Domestic Violence Services Program will be held at Aiden Memorial Hall at WPI on Tuesday, starting at 5 PM.

The event honors the life and legacy of  Ginger Navickas, long-time Director of Domestic Violence Services at YWCA Central Massachusetts and a lifetime advocate for women.

The panel discussion if moderated by Board President of the Worcester Public Library Stephanie Pasha and features:

  • Jenna Blum: A New York Times and internationally bestselling author of novels Those Who Save Us, The Stormchasers, and The Lost Family; the novella “The Lucky One” in the collection Grand Central; and memoir Woodrow on the Bench, about her senior black Lab and what his last seven months taught her, now in paperback from Harper Collins.
  • Andrea Hairston: Andrea Hairston is a novelist, playwright, and scholar. Aqueduct Press published: “Will Do Magic For Small Change”, a New York Times Editor’s pick and finalist for the Mythopoeic, Lambda, and Otherwise Awards; Mindscape, winner of the Carl Brandon Award; and Lonely Stardust, a collection of essays and plays.
  • Randy Susan Meyers: The drama of Randy Susan Meyers’ internationally bestselling novels is informed by over twenty years of working with families impacted by emotional and physical violence. The Massachusetts Council of the Book—a division of the Library of Congress—chose Meyers novels as “Must Read Books” and finalists for the Massachusetts Book Award, writing,
