WORCESTER – Police arrested a local man on Wednesday, May 29, on attempted murder and firearm charges.
Police responded to reports of shots fired near Madison Street at around 12:30 AM on Monday, May 27. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered evidence of a shooting.
Shortly after 1 AM, police learned that medical personnel at a local hospital were treating a shooting victim.
According to the Worcester Police Department, officers from its gang unit identified a suspect in the shooting, Christopher Quiles, 24, of Worcester, on Fremont Street at around 5 PM on Wednesday.
Police say Quiles fled after seeing officers, but was arrested after a pursuit.
Quiles faces charges of:
- Armed Assault with intent to Murder;
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License;
- Carrying a Firearm without a License;
- Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling;
- Witness Intimidation;
- Assault and Battery by Firearm; and
- Defacement of Property.
