Sign is Up at Insomnia Cookies, But No Opening Date Yet

The sign has been placed above the future home of Insomnia Cookies [see photo] at 1 Kelley Square [facing Water St., next to Wings Over Worcester], but an opening date hasn’t been confirmed yet, according to a spokesperson.

Insomnia Cookies delivers cookies warm out of the oven and straight to their customer’s door all day starting as early as 9AM.

The Worcester location will serve popular cookie flavors including Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup and the S’mores Deluxe. The requisite pint of cold milk can also be added to any order. Insomnia Cookies also serves and delivers Cookie Cakes and Brownies with toppings such as sprinkles and cookie dough; all of which make a great gifts for celebrations large or small. Insomnia Cookies will also offer a full ice cream menu with customizable options such as the Cookie a La Mode and Cookiewich, ice cream sandwiched between any two cookies of your choice.

The store will be open from 9AM to 3AM on weekdays and from 11am to 3AM on weekends.

 

Worcester Public Schools Release Parent Survey

For parents with children in Worcester Public Schools, the end of the year parent survey is now available online. The survey closes at the end of the day on Friday, June 28, 2019. 

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation [MassDOT] will hold a public meeting in Worcester on Wednesday to discuss its 5-year plan.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 PM on June 5 in the South Meeting Room at Worcester’s City Hall.

MassDOT is requesting input on they can improve  transportation systems, enhance transportation capacity where needed, and build new projects to help communities prosper and get residents where they need to go. Representatives from MassDOT will inform attendees on how to get involved at the local and state level, provide a draft overview of the 2020 – 2024 CIP and record your input about your transportation needs and capital priorities. 

 

Wormtown Brewery to Open Second Location at Patriot Place

In an in-depth interview with Brewbound.com, Wormtown Brewery managing partner David Fields said that they will be occupying a 4,000 sq. ft. space at Patriot Place from Battle Road Brewing Company, which had operated a pop-up taproom during the fall of 2018.

Fields told Brewbound.com, “Sixteen million people go through Patriot Place on an annualized basis, and they come from not just Massachusetts, but all over New England and all over the country. So there’s an opportunity to connect our brand to a whole bunch of people that may or may not have seen us before.”

According to the report, the lease agreement gives Wormtown access to the property for five years, and the company as an option to renew. Wormtown is investing about $1.3 million into the project. 

 

Co-Working Photography Studio and Creative Space to Open in Downtown Worcester

An open house is being held next Sunday, June 9 at 44 Portland St in downtown Worcester at Be Studios — a co-working photography studio and creative space for entrepreneurs.

The open house is being held from 2 PM to 5 PM.

The Be Studios are a creative space dedicated to photographers and creatives that will allow individuals to host workshops, networking events, pop-up exhibits and more.
