WORCESTER – The City of Worcester License Commission unanimously approved a Common Victualer license, a license to operate a restaurant, for Bombay Lounge at 64 Water St., on Thursday.
Bombay Lounge will primarily serve North Indian cuisine. A partner of the business, Devendra Patil, told commissioners they expect to seek a license to serve alcohol at a later date.
The 64 Water St. location was formerly home to Maddi’s Cookery and TapHouse. Patil said he and his partners acquired the assets of Maddi’s and plan to retain most of its equipment while making décor changes.
A planned opening day is not yet available, but the owners plan to open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner, from 11 AM to 10 PM.
