977 COVID-19 Positive Cases in Worcester Since December 18

WORCESTER – Mayor Joe Petty announced on Wednesday, December 24 that another 977 COVID-19 positive cases had arisen in Worcester since the city’s last update, delivered on Friday, December 18.

On Wednesday alone, there were 271 new cases.

To date, there have been a total of 12,762 COVID-19 positive cases in the City of Worcester.

Positive case counts in surrounding towns reported:

  • Shrewsbury: 1,381 (increase of 127)
  • Holden: 653 (increase of 75)
  • Grafton: 532 (increase of 49)
  • Leicester: 535 (increase of 39)

Case breakdown in Worcester, by age:

  • 19-under: 1,755 (13%)
  • 20-29: 2,404 (18%)
  • 30-39: 2,270 (17%)
  • 40-49: 1,988 (15%)
  • 50-59: 2,013 (15%)
  • 60-69: 1,397 (10%)
  • 70-up: 1,664 (13%)
