MAP: See How Aggressive Each State is Against the Coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the City of Worcester’s Division of Public Health have all stressed three important guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic: maintain “social distancing,” wash your hands and cough or sneeze into your elbow.

The term “social distancing” means keeping at least six feet apart from another individual. In Massachusetts, social distancing has been legally enforced under the terms of the state of emergency. Beginning Tuesday, March 17, bars and restaurants across the state will have to shift to take-out or delivery only. No dine-in services will be allowed at any establishment until at least April 6.

In their latest report — the Most Aggressive States Against Coronavirus — the data experts at WalletHub rank Massachusetts as 6th overall among all 50 states and Washington, D.C. in terms of its aggressiveness to limit exposure of the coronavirus.

WalletHub’s data sets ranged from tested cases of COVID-19 per capita and state legislation on the pandemic to the uninsured population and share of the workforce in affected industries.
