Boston Man Arrested at Union Station for Stealing Police Bicycle

WORCESTER – An officer on patrol on Thursday morning saw a man walking through an area not open to the public at Union Station, leading to his arrest on larceny charges.

The man, Nathaniel Gaye, 29, of Boston, was dressed as a construction worker and carrying a Worcester Police bicycle when the officer spotted him.

Gaye claimed to be part of a construction crew cleaning up Union Station, but did not have a valid reason for having the bicycle or being in a restricted area, according to the Worcester Police Department. Gaye also allegedly had a shopping cart with several items on it.

When the officer told Gaye he was under arrest, police allege he ran toward Harding Street.

After a brief pursuit, Gaye was arrested. Officer found a security system scheduled to be installed at Union Station and other items.

Police found that Gaye had two active warrants for his arrest. He also faces new charges of:

  • Larceny from a Building;
  • Larceny Over $1200;
  • Resisting Arrest;
  • Disorderly Conduct;
  • Disturbing the Peace; and
  • Trespass.
