WORCESTER – Two events will honor the memory of Harris Wolobah this weekend.

Wolobah, a 14 year old Doherty High School sophomore, died on Friday, September 1, First responders received a call at around 4:30 PM that Wolobah was unresponsive and not breathing. After transport to a local hospital, the teen was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner has not announced a cause of death and an autopsy is pending.

Wolobah reportedly took part in the “one chip challenge” earlier in the day while at school. The chip is made with the hottest pepper on earth, the Carolina Reaper pepper. Wolobah’s family suspects the chip played a role in their son’s death.

The first event is a candle light vigil on Friday, September 8, at 630 PM at Newton Square, at corner of Pleasant Street and Highland Street

The second event is a co-ed basketball workout at St. Bernard’s at 228 Lincoln Street. The cost to participate is $25. All proceeds will directly to 4the Wolobah family.
