WORCESTER – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Worcester area starting Friday at midnight and lasting 24 hours.
As of Friday morning, according to NWS, up to 2 feet of of heavy snow is expected to fall in parts of Massachusetts overnight Friday through most of Saturday. and wind gusts could get as high as 45 mph.
Worcester County is expected to see up to 18 inches of snow. Snow could fall at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
NWS warns that travel could be very difficult or altogether impossible. Strong winds could damage trees.
