Major Crash in Sturbridge Causes Power Outage for Several Hours

STURBRIDGE – A power outage is expected to last several hours after a motor vehicle crashed into a telephone pole on Rt. 148 in Sturbridge.

According to the Sturbridge Police Department, the vehicle crashed into a pole this morning on Brookfield Rd. north of Warren Rd. The road will be closed until further notice. Police advise drivers to seek an alternate route. 

The operator of the vehicle was injured in the crash and has been transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.

There will be a power outage to the surrounding areas of the crash for the next several hours due to pole replacement.

National Grid is aware of the situation and is working to fix the issue.
