WORCESTER – Monday, April 27 is “Take Out Day” in Worcester.
The special day to help local restaurants — an idea from District 1 City Councilor Sean Rose — was voted unanimously in favor by the City Council earlier this month.
The City is calling on all residents — if they can — to order take-out, get curbside pick-up or delivery from a local restaurant.
During the COVID-19 statewide shutdown of dine-in services, many restaurants have adopted take-out and curbside pick-up options that make it safe for both the customer and restaurant staff.
Don’t want to leave the house? More and more local restaurants have jumped on delivery apps like DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats.
In an effort to support local restaurateurs, the City Council adopted a resolution declaring Monday, April 27 #WorcesterTakeOutDay. Support your favorite local restaurants, diners and cafes that are up and operating with a curbside pick-up, to-go order or delivery. pic.twitter.com/ZaJUsaLJdS
