Three Arrested After Fight Outside Burncoat High School

WORCESTER – A Worcester police officer working as a School Resource officer at Burncoat High School arrested three individuals after a fight on Friday, September 10.

A school administrator reported the fight to the officer and reported weapons were present in front of Burncoat Junior High School at around 2 PM.

A witness at the scene reported to the officer that an individual with a knife, dressed in all black, fled back toward the high school.

The resource officer and another officer who arrived at the scene pursued the individual on foot. They caught up to the 15-year-old male in the backyard of a Burncoat Street residence.

Officers found the juvenile, who was not a student at either Burncoat Street schools, had a large kitchen knife in his possession. Further investigation revealed the juvenile struck a Burncoat principal multiple times during the fight.

The 15-year-old male faces charges with Assault and Battery on a Public School Employee, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon on Campus and Trespassing.

School administrators flagged down other responding officers and individuals involved in the fight.

Officers detained a 16-year-old male who had a knife in his waistband. He faces Possession of a Dangerous Weapon on Campus and Trespassing.

An 18-year-old male faces charges of Trespassing after being arrested.

All three arrested do not attend Burncoat Street schools.
