Unsolved: Worcester – Jampy Rivera Double Shooting

WORCESTER – A true crime, cold case podcast series exploring the dozens of unsolved murders and missing persons cases currently under investigation by the Worcester Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office released episode 4 of Season 7 on Tuesday.

Unsolved: Worcester is a series of narrative episodes airing every Tuesday over six 10-episode series. The episodes have an average run time of 15 minutes.

In Episode 4 of Unsolved: Worcester Season 7, It’s Sunday morning, July 29, 2018. It’s around 2:15 AM. a fight involving several people has broken out in front of a three-decker home on Sturgis Street.

Witnesses told police a man came running from the side of the Sturgis Street home and rapidly fired several gunshots, striking two people: one a 28-year-old man, and the other, 23-year-old Jovannexen “Jampy” Rivera.

The shooter fled the scene, leaving Jampy and the other man laying on the sidewalk…each suffering serious gunshot wounds.

Minutes later, Jampy would be pronounced dead. It’s been nearly six years and his case remains unsolved.
