Massachusetts educators can hang their hats on the fact that their school systems are the tops in the country.
According to a recent report from the data experts at WalletHub, the Bay State is home to 2019’s best school systems.
The report — 2019’s States with the Best & Worst School Systems — compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 29 key measures of quality and safety. The data set ranges from pupil-teacher ratio to dropout rate to median standardized-test scores.
Quality & Safety of Schools in Massachusetts (1=Best; 25=Avg.):
- 1st – Math Test Scores
- 1st – Reading Test Scores
- 11th – Pupil-Teacher Ratio
- 21st – Median SAT Score
- 2nd – Median ACT Score
- 12th – Dropout Rate
- 5th – Bullying Incidence Rate
- 1st – % of Threatened/Injured High School Students
