Today’s Weather in Worcester – Wednesday, January 29

WORCESTER- Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout Wednesday afternoon with high temperatures between 34 and 39 degrees.

Wednesday night is expected to be clear and quite cold with low temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees.

Thursday is expected to be sunny with high temperatures near 35 degrees.

Friday looks sunny to partly sunny with high temperatures near 40 degrees.

This Weekend: It is looking increasingly more likely that the storm system that I have been keeping an eye on for this weekend will take an offshore track. This is not surprising and is something that I have been expecting given the overall weather pattern.

This means that in all likelihood there will not be accumulating snow this weekend across Central Mass. Instead, I think that we will see cloudy skies on Saturday with perhaps some scattered snow or rain showers around. High temperatures Saturday will be between 35 and 40 degrees.

It should be noted that there is still a chance — albeit a very low one right now — that this storm could still take a track that is much closer to our area. Should this occur we would see accumulating snow on Saturday and Saturday night instead. As I said, this scenario looks unlikely right now, but it is something to still keep an eye on.

Turning to Sunday, it looks like a cloudy and windy day with an isolated rain or snow shower around. High temperatures Sunday will be near 40 degrees.
