It’s the weekend, which means you can hit the pause button on the fast-paced weekdays! Slow things down and focus on you this Saturday and Sunday.

ThisWeekinWorcester.com has your list of five events to spoil yourself. Put aside some time this weekend for your own mental health with calming entertainment you can indulge in at home or in the Worcester area! Take a deep breath this weekend and find a creative outlet for your innovative thoughts, get outside and contribute to the city, or take a sip of tea with some interesting reading material.

One of the best ways to give back to yourself is to give back the community!

[DUE TO THE EXTREME COLD, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE]

Pick up your spirits and do a good deed this Saturday by picking up Elm Park. Volunteer your time this Saturday from 12 PM to 1 PM to help clean up your local park. Meet up for Make Worcester Clean Again at Park Avenue to help to beautify the city.

Trash bags will be provided by the group and they will be disposed of by the Worcester DPW. All you will need to bring face masks and plastic gloves! And dress warm!

Ease your mind by finding answers in an unlikely place!

Make your ordinary teacup a window into the future with Sarah’s Emporium of Unique Gifts, Readings by Marilyn, and Marilyn HD Lightworks for their Tea Leaf Reading Class

All levels of participants are welcome to this fun, interactive class that will give you instructions on how to read your own tea leaves. The class is $30, and it includes a tea cup and saucer, instruction packet, and sample symbols! There are limited spots, so get a ticket online or call to reserve your spot.

Start a new hobby!

Get out a notebook and take a class all about journaling. Pick up a pen this Saturday with Kay Journal as you find a simple way to achieve your goals.

With Kay Journal’s class, you will discuss strategies to visualize your successes in order to make your dreams a reality. Each ticket is $8.99, and includes access to the event.

Let the soothing voice of Bob Ross help you relax this weekend!

Mimosas and Masterpieces are celebrating the iconic painter Bob Ross, with a special tribute day event.

Tune into Facebook Live this Saturday at 8:15 PM to make your own happy little paintings! Even though Bob Ross often used oils, this demonstration will use acrylic paints and they will be keeping it simple with only the primary colors. Anyone who purchases an art kit or donates to their tip jar will be eligible to win during their exciting giveaways.

Take a break from reality for a couple hours by taking a virtual tour!

This Saturday the Worcester Art Museum and Worcester Public Library are featuring The Art of New England: A Virtual Tour with the Worcester Art Museum

From 2:30 to 4:30 PM, a docent will guide you through the art museum to look at pieces painted by famous artists like Winslow Homer and Childe Hassam. You will not only view the paintings and appreciate their beauty, but the docent will also tell the story behind each artwork. This event will take place on Zoom and you must register for it ahead of time!
