WORCESTER – A 26-year-old Brockton man was arrested on Sunday night in Worcester for unarmed robbery and assault and battery on a person over 60 or disabled.
According to the Worcester Police Department [WPD], officers were dispatched to the Honey Farms convenience store on Highland Street just after 11 AM for a report of an unarmed robbery.
Witnesses told police that a female asked another customer in the store if she could have some money. When the customer was leaving the store, he took out $5 to give to the female. The female and a male — identified as Patrick Chatelain of Brockton — approached the customer, snatched the $5 and additional money out of the victim’s hands and then punched the victim in the face and fled the scene.
Chatelain was identified by a police officer and a BOLO was issued for his arrest. He was located around 7:45 PM on Sunday night at 25 Queen St. and placed under arrest.
Chatelain is charged with Assault and Battery on a Victim Over 60 or Disabled and Unarmed Robbery. He also had three outstanding arrest warrants. Chatelain will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
