WESTBOROUGH – An early morning traffic stop by Westborough Police on Rt. 9, around the area of 187 Turnpike Rd., led to the arrest of Christopher Fuller of Worcester for firearms and drug-related charges.
Fuller was travelling west on Rt. 9 around 3 AM on Thursday, August 27, when a Westborough officer stopped him for speeding. The stop revealed that Fuller was driving on a suspended driver’s license.
When the officer began preparations to have the vehicle towed, police say Fuller became angry and approached the officer several times to access a backpack inside the vehicle. Fuller allegedly failed to comply with orders to remain away from the vehicle.
Another officer arrived at the scene and determined there was a loaded firearm inside the backpack Fuller was attempting to access.
A Class B substance was also found within Fuller’s possessions.
Fuller faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance and several other criminal charges.
Fuller’s bail was set at $15,000 pending arraignment Thursday morning.
