WORCESTER – The Worcester Police Department [WPD] has announced road closings ahead of filming scenes for the movie “Free Guy” –starring Ryan Reynolds — on Wednesday, May 22.
The following roads will be closed to traffic from 6 AM to 7 PM:
- Franklin Street from Salem Street to Main Street

Portland Street from Myrtle Street to Franklin Street
There is no parking from 6 AM to 7 PM on the following streets:
- Portland Street
- Franklin Street
- Salem Street
- Federal Street
The WPD is advising drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians to take extra care to obey the rules of the road and to be considerate of others traveling on local streets in the areas surrounding the movie shoot.

As the016.com reported last week, “Free Guy” will be filming at Brew on the Grid, 56 Franklin St.
According to IMDB.com, “Free Guy” is about a bank teller who discovers that he’s actually a player inside a video game. The movie is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Reynolds, Taika Waititi, and Jodie Comer.
The film’s reported release date is Friday July 3, 2020.
