The Massachusetts Department of Transportation [MassDOT] says the new Worcester service center branch of the Registry of Motor Vehicles [RMV] is planned to open in fall 2021.
MassDOT first confirmed it would move to the location formerly operated by Big Y Supermarket in Southwest Plaza, at 50 Southwest Cutoff, in April.
The Worcester branch of the RMV service center is currently at 611 Main St., in a building constructed in 1990.
The Worcester office of the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance [DTA], formerly on Sudbury St. in downtown Worcester, opened in the Southwest Commons Plaza in March 2020.
