Wormtown, Table Talk Release New Chocolate Pecan Pie Ale on Friday
Beer and pie lovers in Worcester continue to reap the benefits of having Wormtown Brewery and Table Talk Pies collaborate on new pie-flavored beers.
On Friday, Wormtown and Table Talk will release their most recent collaboration, Chocolate Pecan Pie Ale, brewed with cocoa powder, pecans, chocolate pecan pies and lactose. The malt beverage is 6.6% alcohol by volume.
Wormtown and Table Talk have collaborated in the past, including a Pumpkin Pie Ale and a Blueberry Lemon Pie Ale.
The Chocolate Pecan Pie Ale will be available for curbside pick-up on Friday at Wormtown Brewery.

Baker Orders Non-Emergency State Workers to Work Remotely
Governor Charlie Baker ordered non-emergency employees for executive branch agencies not to report to work on Thursday, December 17, due to the winter storm.
Employees who are able to work from home were expected to do so. The Governor’s office also advised residents to stay off roadways and to use public transportation when possible
As ThisWeekinWorcester.com reported on Wednesday, December 16, the City of Worcester ordered City Hall, the Worcester Public Library, Worcester Division of Public Health and Fire Prevention buildings closed on Thursday and all employees to work from home.
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care to Partner for WooSox Farms
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, the official health and wellness partner of the Worcester Red Sox, announced it is expanding its partnership with the team with the launch of WooSox Farms.
WooSox Farms will an urban garden located on the second deck of the third base concourse at Polar Park that will be created to benefit the residents of Worcester and patrons of Polar Park.
The collaboration will grow produce for farmers markets, ballpark dining, and for community uses throughout Worcester.
The Regional Environmental Council [REC] of Worcester, which subsidizes farmers markets in the city, will maintain WooSox Farms.
Children from Youth Grow, a Worcester nonprofit, will tend to the gardens and nurture the growth of the vegetables, herbs, and spices.
Two New Appointees to the Cannabis Control Commission
Governor Charlie Baker, Treasurer Deborah Goldberg and Attorney General Maura Healey announced the appointments of Nurys Camargo and Bruce Stebbins to the Cannabis Control Commission [CCC].
Both will serve five-year terms.
Nurys Z. Camargo has served since 2013 as the Director of External Affairs in Massachusetts for AT&T.
Bruce Stebbins has served as a Commissioner for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, the body responsible for implementing and overseeing the expanded gaming law.
