Worcester to Host Four Rental and Utility Assistance Workshops
The City of Worcester is hosting four events next week to assist residents falling behind on rent and utility payments.
City Announces Improvements to Worcester Senior Center
Starting later this summer, the Worcester Senior Center will begin work on several improvements, including the installation of solar panels, a solar parking canopy and a new fitness center.
The City of Worcester will be taking unused rooms in the Nurses building to convert them into a new fitness center on the first floor and an activity center on the second floor.
The improvements are expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
Worcester Red Sox Hosting ‘Peanut Allergy-Friendly Nights’
The Worcester Red Sox will host “Peanut Allergy-Friendly Nights” at Polar Park on Tuesday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 17.
On each of those nights, the sale or consumption of peanut products will not be allowed.
With off days on Monday, the WooSox will do a deep cleaning of the seating bowl, the concourses, and the DCU Level prior to each Peanut Allergy-Friendly Night.
The WooSox play the Syracuse Mets at 6:35 PM on Tuesday, August 10, and they play two games against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders starting at 4:35 PM on Tuesday, August 17. The first game will be a resumption of the July 17 game and will start in the 6th inning. The second game is also a makeup game from July 18.
Vaccine Clinic at Logan Field Today
A vaccine clinic will be held today at Logan Field from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Vaccines are available for anyone ages 12 and older. No appointments are necessary.

Family Aquatic Science Day at Coes Pond Beach Scheduled for August 22
The City of Worcester’s Woo Angler Series continues on Sunday, Aug. 22 at Coes Pond Beach for Family Aquatic Science Day.
Participants will get hands-on experience on how to collect data to assess water quality in the city’s lakes and streams and learn what fish, bugs and microscopic organisms can teach us about the health of city waterways.
