In today’s edition – Monday, December 27 – there’s free COVID-19 testing and vaccines in downtown Worcester this week, the Worcester Common Oval skating rink hours are extended starting today for Christmas vacation, the Paxton Police Department is asking the public for help finding who’s responsible for a series of motor vehicle break-ins, Ziggy Bombs first pop-up of 2022 will be at Miss Worcester Diner and Glazy Susan is hiring a doughnut decorator.

 

Free COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines in Worcester Today and Tuesday

UMass Memorial Health and the City of Worcester are sponsoring two days of free COVID-19 testing and vaccines this week in Worcester.

The testing will be held today — Monday, Dec. 27 — and Tuesday, Dec. 28 from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Mercantile Center at 201 Commercial Street.

The testing and vaccines are walk-up. No appointment is necessary. Vaccines are available for anyone ages 5 and up.

 

Skating at Worcester Common Oval has Extended Hours this Week for School Vacation

Ice skating at the Worcester Common Oval rink is open from 1 PM to 6 PM starting today until Thursday this week. Skating is open 1 PM to 9 PM on Friday and 1 PM to 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

During public skating hours at the Worcester Common Oval, ice skate rentals will be available for $5. You will need valid identification in order to rent skates.

 

Paxton Police Seeks Assistance from Public Finding Vehicle Break-In Suspect

The Paxton Police Department is asking the public for help finding who is responsible for multiple vehicle break-ins and a vehicle theft on Christmas morning.

According to Paxton Police, between the hours of 1:30 AM and 3:30 AM, multiple vehicles were broken into and a vehicle was stolen in the South end of Paxton towards the Worcester line.

Anyone in the neighborhoods that has any camera footage of anyone suspicious walking around or past your home during this period is asked to contact Paxton Police at  at (508) 755-1104.

In the case of the motor vehicle breaks, all the vehicles were left unlocked by the owners. In the case of the single stolen motor vehicle, the car keys were left inside the vehicle by the owner.

 

Ziggy Bombs First Pop-Up of 2022 will be at Miss Worcester Diner

Specialty steak and cheese subs start-up, Ziggy Bombs, will be hosting its first pop-up of 2022 at Miss Worcester Diner on January 7.

The pop-up will feature the “Big Poppa” Steak & Cheese with steak, cheese, egg and Welch’s grape jelly.
