WORCESTER – Police officers responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on on Pleasant Street on Monday, March 28, at around 4 PM.
When officers arrived at the scene, Worcester Firefighters and paramedics were providing medical assistance to a 51-year-old man. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The operator of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on the scene.
A preliminary investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Team found that the man was walking east on Pleasant Street when a gray Subaru Forester driving west traveled onto the sidewalk. The vehicle struck the man, a fire hydrant and a parked car.
The driver was also treated for injuries and transported to a hospital.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
