WORCESTER-  Local musician Dezi Garcia will be performing Friday night, Feb. 28, ahead of the Worcester Railers game at the DCU Center.

Garcia will take the stage alongside bassist Jesse Mosczynski and drummer Andre Christy for a pre-game show starting at 6 PM.

The trio will also be performing in between periods in the Coors Light Cold Zone during the Railers-Brampton Beast game. Puck drops at 7:05 PM.

Garcia, 25, of Worcester, said, “It’s going to be a very fluid set. We are going to be playing [original songs] — like ‘Moondancer,’ ‘Visions,’ ‘Let Me Be,’ — and we are also going to be playing some stadium anthem songs that the [former Worcester] IceCats used to play back in the day to pay tribute to the IceCats.”

The “Ghetto Paradise” lead singer said the first concert he ever attended was at the DCU Center to see Nickleback with his dad when he was 12 years old. Garcia said to now be performing his own music where he saw his first concert is “…super special. It’s going to be nostalgic. My 12-year-old self would be proud. This is a very big show for us.”

Garcia is encouraging everyone to get to the game early to witness a “great rock show.”

Friday night’s Railers game is also a 2-3-4 Weekday at the DCU Center with $2 popcorn, $3 soda, and $4 Bud Lights in the Bud Light Lounge.

Following Friday’s performance, Ghetto Paradise is hoping for a June release for a new album.

“I’m not rushing it. It’s still a work in progress,” Garcia said.

A graduate of Bay State College, Garcia describes himself as “crazy, but fun and entertaining” as a performer.

“I’m just one of those guys who likes to play. I want to play every day. I love it,” Garcia said.

About Garcia’s new band Ghetto Paradise, he said, “We are starting a whole new movement by playing original music. We aren’t just a cover band.”

The band is scheduled to perform next at Michael’s Cigar Bar on Friday, May 15 at 9 PM.

Garcia will be performing solo at Wormtown Brewery at  Patriots Place next Friday night, March 6 at 6 PM.
