WORCESTER – Officers from the Worcester Police Department Neighborhood Response Team arrested a man with nine outstanding warrants Wednesday, and filed new charges against him.
Officers identified a vehicle reported stolen at the intersection of Shrewsbury Street and Imperial Road shortly after 6:30 PM. John Slater, 21, who police say was known to its officers, walked up to the vehicle and used a key to open the driver’s side door.
Officers converged on Slater, who police say attempted to pull away and flee. After a short stuggle, police placed Slater in custody.
Along with the charges related to the warrants, Slater faces new charges of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Resisting Arrest.
