WORCESTER – The Manny 267 Foundation presented the Worcester Police Department with “Manny Tubes” to be installed in emergency police vehicles in an event on Tuesday, March 29.

“Manny Tubes” are flotation tubes used when officers are responding to aquatic emergencies.

The Manny 267 Foundation was created to honor Worcester Police Officer Manny Familia, who died while on duty during an attempted rescue of a teen at Green Hill Pond on June 4, 2021.

The UMass Chan Medical School made the donaton possible by funding the purchase of the flotation tubes.

The Manny 267 Foundation also launched an initiative to provide community youth with water safety and swim classes through partnering with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, UMass Chan Medical School and
City of Worcester.
