WORCESTER – The National Weather Service [NWS] has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Worcester area beginning Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

NWS says heavy snowfall is possible and Worcester could see up to 10 inches of snow fall, with likely snowfall totals between six to eight inches.

Snow is expected to start late Wednesday night and end late Thursday morning.

The heaviest snow — up to one foot of snow — is expected south of the Mass Pike, the Boston area and Plymouth County.

The heavy snowfall could impact the Thursday morning commute.
