WORCESTER  – When the High School Quiz Show returns on Feb. 3 for its 15th season, South High Community School students will again be competing. They will face off against The Commonwealth School on Feb. 10.

St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury also qualified for the wild card round. In its first appearance ever on the show, St. John’s will match up against Maynard on Feb. 3.

The Emmy-award winning academic contest for Massachusetts high schools recently unveiled the 17 teams that advanced through the qualifying round. The other schools competing this season are:

Cambridge’s Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (Season 14 winner);
Mansfield High School (season 14 runner up);
Acton-Boxborough Regional High School;
Andover High School;
Lexington High School;
North Quincy High School;
Boston College High School;
Maynard High School; and
Roxbury Latin School.

Bracket selections are based on the highest scores from the Super Sunday qualifier on November 5. Fifty-four teams from across Massachusetts and four from western Massachusetts, competed at GBH’s Brighton studios and Springfield location. Over 300 students participated.

In the 16-round tournament, four-student teams will face off in each round, with the winners progressing until the championship match. Season 15 of High School Quiz Show premieres on Feb. 3 at 6 PM on GBH 2 and the High School Quiz Show YouTube channel.
