WORCESTER – 44-year-old Tam Vuong, Worcester, was indicted today in federal court on 14 wire fraud charges and four charges for failing to pay taxes.

All charges were related to Prime Labor LLC and UT Services, Inc., both employment agencies, which Vuong oversaw between 2012-2017.

Over a five year period Vuong is alleged to have concealed more than $30 million in cash wages paid to employees. He also did not report those wages to the IRS or inform his workers’ compensation insurer.

The indictment also alleges that Vuong forged certificates of insurance after the worker’s compensation policy was cancelled.

The wire fraud charges carry up to 20 years in prison while the tax charges carry up to 3 years in prison.
