Today is the Last Chance to Vote Early in Worcester
Today is the last day for early voting for the September 6 Massachusetts state primary. Early voting is available at the Central Community Branch YMCA at 766 Main Street from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Those that have not already voted and do not vote today can visit their regular polling location on primary voting day, Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Country Bank Warns of Fraudulent Activity
Country Bank advises customers that imposters pretending to be from Country Bank are contacting individuals using the following tactics to gain access to account information:
- By telephone they are claiming to be from Country Bank’s fraud department and informing customers that they have been locked out of their online banking application. They are sending a malicious link via email to customers who comply and asking the customer update their password. This action gives the fraudster access to their online banking account which reveals their password.
- Via text messages, they are sending a “Mobile Bank Alert”. The message claims that their debit card has been locked and instructs them to call 859-685-7586 to have the debit card unlocked. This action requires customers to provide their PIN.
Country Bank reminds customers it will never contact a customer and ask them to divulge their user names, passwords, PINs, account number(s) or social security number. Please use caution, if in doubt – hang up and contact our Customer Care Center by calling 800-322-8233.
