The Golden Age of Central Mass Basketball at Worcester Historical Museum

The Worcester Historical Museum  is hosting a celebration and official book release for a new biography on college basketball icon Jack “The Shot” Foley.

The event will take place on Sept. 22 at 11 AM at WHM at 30 Elm St.

Worcester’s own Mark “Pathfinder” Epstein is the author of the biography on Foley, a three-time All-America selection for the Holy Cross Crusaders. The book is now available on Amazon. To purchase the book, click here.

Foley was the first player in school history to score 2,000 career points and his jersey number 32 was retired by Holy Cross in 2011.

Epstein also shares stories of the late Bill Russell and Togo Palazzi, both basketball legends who have recently passed away.

“Jack ‘The Shot’ Foley – A Legend for All Time” is Epstein’s second book. In 2019, he released his memoir, “They Call Me Pathfinder: Education-Basketball-Equality.”

Guest speakers at the WHM event include host and former Worcester mayor Tim Cooney, coach George Blaney, Jeff Twiss, Nancy Mayer Bates, coach Bobby Foley, Frank Foley and others.
