Fairway Beef Co. Closed for Good on Saturday

Fairway Beef Co. — “Worcester’s #1 meat market” — closed its doors after more than 75 years in business this weekend, according to a report from Spectrum News 1.

Spectrum News 1’s report says the butcher shop and retail store closed at 3 p.m. on Saturday and employees say they found out on Saturday. According to SN1, employees say the owners sold the building.

Fairway Beef opened in 1946.

Crompton Park Pool Closed Until Wednesday

Due to an increase of vandalism in and around Crompton Park Pool, the City of Worcester’s Department of Public Works and Parks closed the pool on Friday through Tuesday, July 6.

The pool will reopen on Wednesday, July 7.

The pool was drained and cleaned and will be refilled and the water will be balanced.

City residents are reminded that the pool is open from Noon to 7 p.m. daily and that there is absolutely no admittance outside of normal operating hours.

Duo Apex Legends is a battle royale game which allows team gameplay.

Main Street Community Fridge Gets Makeover from Youth Artist

Over the weekend, the community fridge outside of Fantastic Pizza on Main Street was replaced and even received a facelift thanks to local youth artist Keylin Cruz.
Cruz painted a sunset with a picnic basket on green grass and clouds in the sky. Be sure to go check out the artwork and fill the fridge with some good food while you’re there.
The Main Street community fridge, along with community fridges on Southbridge Street, Portland Street and Brooks Street, is overseen by Worcester Community Fridges.
