66-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Southwest Cutoff Crash

WORCESTER – Officers from the Police Reconstruction Team reported to Southwest Cutoff on Wednesday, October 27, at around 7:40 PM in response to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a Toyota Highlander.

The pedestrian, a 66-year-old Worcester man, was pronounced dead at the hospital after transport.

The driver, a 42-year-old Sudbury woman, attempted to assist the pedestrian after the crash.

According to the Worcester Police Department, the preliminary investigation reveals that the Highlander travelled east on Southwest Cutoff approaching the line of Auburn and Worcester. The driver saw the pedestrian but could not stop before the crash occurred.

The Worcester Police Department reports the investigation is ongoing.
