Pedestrian Crash Leaves Auburn Woman in Critical Condition

WORCESTER – An early morning motor vehicle crash on Grafton St. involving a Freightliner left a 44-year-old Auburn woman in critical condition on Wednesday, December 9.

First responders received a report of the crash around 12:30 AM on Wednesday morning. The Worcester Police Crash Reconstruction Team deployed to the scene to investigate.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 54-year-old man driving a 2016 Freightliner Tractor, travelling east on I-290, exited toward Grafton St. and stopped at the red light.

When the light turned green, the driver proceeded and collided with a pedestrian running across the off ramp.

The woman suffered head trauma during the collision and is being treated at a local hospital.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
