WORCESTER – A man stopped for operating a motorcycle on a sidewalk was arrested Thursday morning and faces multiple drug and motor vehicle charges.
According to the Worcester Police Department, officers saw Joseph Baez, 46, of Worcester, on an Oread Street sidewalk headed toward Beacon Street, and engaged in a traffic stop at around 9:15 AM. While talking with Baez, officers noticed Baez’s fanny pack open with hypodermic needles inside. They removed the fanny pack.
During a search of Baez, officers report they discovered 18 grams of cocaine, 5,5 grams if fentanyl, and $1,090 in cash.
Baez faces charges of:
- Trafficking in Class B Substance 18-36 Grams;
- Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute;
- Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle;
- Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle; and
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License.
