WORCESTER – The US Geological Survey (USGS) reports a 4.8 magnitude earthquake around 4.3 miles north of Whitehouse Station, NJ, in the area of Lebanon, NJ, at 10:23 AM. That is around 45 miles west of New York City and around 50 miles north of Philadelphia.
Residents across New England, including in Worcester County, have reported experiencing some movement resulting from the earthquake. Law enforcement agencies are aware of the event. Residents should refrain from calling 911 or other emergency services to only report feeling movement. Residents should not hesitate to report other emergencies.
